Indonesia’s civil society movement is one of the strongest in the region and has played a major role in the advancement of democracy, economic development, legal reform and human rights. However, in recent years, politics has eroded this strength, making it polarized, divided and increasingly underestimated by the ruling government.
With all the limited resources available, we support efforts to re-strengthen, re-organize and re-consolidate civil society, so that civil society can carry out and revitalize its strategic role as a balancing partner for the government and the state.
We invite all parties to collaborate together to realize our collective goals of realizing a prosperous and just society.
